Stainless steel does not corrode, or rust because of weather conditions like ordinary mild/untreated steel. The difference between steel and stainless steel is the amount of chromium present in the steel. Unprotected steel rusts easily when exposed to moisture and air. The chromium that is added to stainless steel helps form chromium oxide which prevents corrosion by blocking oxygen into from the steel surface while also blocking corrosion from spreading to the internal structure of the metal.
Stainless steel is recyclable
Stainless steel can be recycled 100%. The average stainless steel panel is made up out of 60% recycled material. This makes stainless steel a great choice to build with. Sustainable for the environment and for the building.
