Aluminium Panels
At AFS International we build sandwich composite panel systems that can fit any project requirement. Aluminium is often used but we can also deliver panels in zinc, titanium, stainless & corten steel and copper. Our composite panels are two sheets of any metal that surround a honeycomb core. This core is usually made from aluminium. This honeycomb core creates a lightweight panel but gives stability and strength at the same time. Aluminium panels are completely made of aluminium, both the core and the outside sheets are made of this light but strong metal.
Aluminium Panels Advantages
Aluminium and aluminium panels offer many advantages over other choices of metal.
Aluminium is Light Weight
It is a very light metal, a third of the weight of steel. Aluminium weights around 2,7g/cm3. Installation is much easier due to the low weight of the panels.
Resistance to Corrosion
Aluminium has a natural protective oxide coating. This is especially useful for the facade of buildings where aluminium will last for several decades.
Aluminium is Recyclable
Aluminium panels are completely recyclable. It requires very little energy to re-smelt aluminium. Only around 5 percent of the energy that it takes to produce aluminium is needed to recycle it.
Flexible
Because aluminium is ductile and has a low melting point. It allows us to easily form aluminium panels to the project requirements.
